A historic transporter bridge over the Nervión River.
The Puente de Bizkaia, also known as the Vizcaya Bridge, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a marvel of industrial engineering. Completed in 1893, it was the first bridge of its kind to carry people and vehicles across the river on a high suspended gondola. Designed by Alberto Palacio, a disciple of Gustave Eiffel, this bridge is an iconic testament to the Industrial Revolution in Europe. Visitors can take a gondola ride or walk across the top walkway for spectacular views.
