The Altare della Patria, or Altar of the Fatherland, is an iconic symbol of Italian unification, located in the heart of Rome. It was designed by Giuseppe Sacconi and completed in 1925. This grandiose structure features a massive equestrian statue of Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy, and is adorned with majestic Corinthian columns. The monument also houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a poignant homage to fallen soldiers. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city from its terraces.
