Nelson's Column stands proudly in Trafalgar Square, commemorating Admiral Horatio Nelson who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Designed by William Railton and completed in 1843, the column is topped with a statue of Nelson himself, sculpted by Edward Hodges Baily. Standing at 52 meters tall, it offers a striking focal point in one of London's most famous squares.
