A stunning example of Ottoman architecture with exquisite Iznik tiles.
Rüstem Pasha Mosque, designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan, is celebrated for its magnificent display of Iznik tiles. Built in the 16th century, this mosque is a hidden gem tucked away in the bustling Tahtakale neighborhood. Its compact size is contrasted by the intricate beauty of its interior, where every surface is adorned with blue and white ceramic tiles. The mosque was commissioned by Rüstem Pasha, the Grand Vizier to Suleiman the Magnificent, and remains an important example of Ottoman religious art.
