Dramaten (Royal Dramatic Theatre)
Stockholm • Theaters
Dramaten, or the Royal Dramatic Theatre, is Sweden's national theatre and a beacon for dramatic arts in the country. Founded in 1788, the current building on Nybroplan was inaugurated in 1908 and is a superb example of Art Nouveau architecture. The theater offers a varied repertoire that includes both classic and modern plays, often with a Swedish twist. Its grand interiors and ornate design make attending a performance here a memorable experience. Booking tickets in advance is advisable, especially for popular shows.
