A towering tribute to Christopher Columbus at the end of La Rambla.
The Columbus Monument, standing at the lower end of La Rambla, commemorates Christopher Columbus's first voyage to the Americas. Erected in 1888 for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona, it features a 60-meter tall column topped with a statue of Columbus pointing towards the New World. The monument is a popular landmark offering panoramic views of the city from its viewing platform.
