Padrão dos Descobrimentos stands majestically along the Tagus River, commemorating the Portuguese Age of Discovery. Designed by Cottinelli Telmo and sculpted by Leopoldo de Almeida, this monument was initially built for the 1940 World Exhibition and later reconstructed in 1960. It features statues of notable explorers, including Vasco da Gama and Ferdinand Magellan, symbolizing Portugal's maritime heritage.
