The iconic suspension bridge connecting Buda and Pest.
The Chain Bridge, completed in 1849, is a symbol of Budapest, linking the Buda and Pest sides of the city across the Danube River. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark and built by the Scottish engineer Adam Clark, it was the first permanent bridge in Budapest. The bridge's lions, which guard its entrances, are famous for their majestic appearance. It offers stunning views of the city, especially when illuminated at night.
