The Monument of Lysicrates, built in 334 BC, is one of the best-preserved choragic monuments in Athens. It was erected by the choregos Lysicrates, a wealthy patron of musical performances, to commemorate a victory in a dramatic competition. The monument is a fine example of Corinthian architecture and stands in the heart of Athens.
