The Theatine Church of St. Cajetan, commonly known as Theatinerkirche, is a masterpiece of Italian Baroque architecture in Munich. Built in the 17th century, its distinctive yellow facade and impressive interior, featuring ornate stucco work and a grand dome, make it a landmark in the city. It was commissioned by Elector Ferdinand Maria and his wife Henriette Adelaide of Savoy as a gesture of thanks for the birth of their son.
