Commemorative plaques honoring Holocaust victims.
Stolpersteine, or 'stumbling stones', are small brass plaques embedded in the sidewalks of Hamburg to honor the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Each plaque is inscribed with the name and life details of an individual, serving as a poignant reminder of the city's dark past. Initiated by artist Gunter Demnig, these memorials are spread throughout the city, creating a path of remembrance.
