The Alter Elbtunnel, or Old Elbe Tunnel, is a historic pedestrian and vehicle tunnel beneath the Elbe River. Opened in 1911, it connects central Hamburg with the docks and shipyards on the south side of the river. Visitors can walk or cycle through the tunnel, enjoying unique views of the harbor and the city skyline from the southern entrance.
