A stunning baroque church with a magnificent dome.
Karlskirche, or St. Charles's Church, is one of Vienna's most impressive baroque architectural masterpieces. Built in the early 18th century, it was commissioned by Emperor Charles VI in gratitude for the end of the plague. The church features a large dome and two iconic flanking columns inspired by Trajan's Column in Rome, making it a unique sight in the city. Visitors can take an elevator to the cupola for a breathtaking view of the interior frescoes.
